Plico Design Studio was engaged by Healesville Sanctuary to redesign the operating room to provide a more clinical environment for the vets to operate on injured animals.
The original room was not sealed from air movement and allowed contaminants into the space. This required a new glazed wall to be constructed, to allow the space to be sanitary, whilst also allowing visitors and students to observe the operations taking place.
The works involved the specification of specialist medical equipment for the fit out and to coordinate the required services to meet current best practice.
