Design of an interactive children disco using shipping containers, with the theme of The Corroboree Frog.

The Corroboree Frog is a critically endangered species of frog that Melbourne Zoo is working on, as part of a captive breeding program,  in order to increase the population in the wild. This project is designed to raise awareness of the program and make an engaging exhibit for children to experience and understand the importance of respect for the environment and animals.

The project includes many interesting features incorporated in the small space. Two shipping containers were modified to form the enclosure, an interactive electronic dance floor was installed on the base, bamboo plywood wall panels combined with a large video installation showing a children’s dance video created especially by The Wiggles, whilst a large inflatable Corroboree Frog, commissioned from artist Airena sits on top of the containers to provide animated drama to the overall experience.
